The year is roughly 2014; I'm about 19 years old and becoming consciously disillusioned by the notions of gender, sexuality, and how they influence my existence against my will. So many nights spent in frustration trying to put the pieces together, trying to make sense of any of it. Finally, 2 years later in one of these bouts of frustration I came across "Gender Nihilism: An Anti-Manifesto." by Alyson Escalante. This would go on to become one of the most pivotal and important pieces of text in my struggle with identity. Finally I had something I could resonate with; Something that laid out all my grievances and gave answers to most, if not all of them. I have no allegiance to any one piece of theory or ideology, but what I do know with the utmost conviction is that "GENDER IS MY ENEMY".
In December of 2021 I got the first "GENDER IS MY ENEMY" tee made just for myself with no plans to make anymore than just the one, but it would end up being my most complimented shirt with more people than I can count asking where to get it. A year later(as I'm writing this) I have finally decided to make it available.
I plan to periodically use this site as an outlet for designs inspired by the works I've read and my own experiences. As well as sharing radical queer texts and resources as I may come across them.
Thanks for reading. :-)
